StoneAge’s Kerry Siggins featured on ProCO360

StoneAge CEO Kerry Siggins was recently interview by ProCO360’s Dave Tabor. She gave her insights about being a young, new CEO taking the reins in an established family-owned company – in a male dominated industry in which she had no experience.

“Nothing is going to teach you leadership skills like running a company.  I started by assuming I knew nothing, asking a lot of questions, listening to what people told me to do, and then acting on it,” says Siggins.

Thrive Global features CURE Pharmaceutical’s Jessica Rousset

CURE Pharmaceutical’s Jessica Rousset was interviewed by Thrive Global as a part of their series featuring accomplished women in STEM. Jessica is the COO of CURE Pharmaceutical, an oral delivery company that develops and manufactures innovative dosage forms such as oral thin films, where she oversees operations and drives corporate growth.

During her two-year tenure, she’s helped CURE exceed financial and operational goals by establishing and executing against strategic priorities, attracting a high impact leadership team and nurturing a cohesive and driven corporate culture. She not only identifies strategic opportunities but creatively and diligently structures and negotiates deals to position CURE as a global market leader in oral delivery, including pharmaceutical cannabinoids.

“My time at CURE continues to be an extraordinarily fulfilling journey because of the team and culture that we are building. The story that I am most interested in and that continuously unfolds is the unlocking of people’s potential. There is nothing more galvanizing than having all-staff meetings where everyone is leaning in, even your usual curmudgeons. When those most jaded and adverse to change become active contributors, they become their fuller selves and that’s the best story of all,” says Rousset.

L.A. mom on heart attack: “Something was definitely wrong.”

A typical school run turned out to be anything but for Los Angeles-based psychologist Kristie Holmes, who ended up having a heart attack during her drive.

Holmes, 44, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she got a pain in her neck while she was securing her daughter into her car seat. “It felt like I slept on my neck wrong, but it was weirder than that,” she says. Holmes says she had a feeling that something was seriously wrong with her health, but couldn’t put her finger on it.

Holmes later learned that her heart was functioning at 10 percent, and she was sent to surgery. There, doctors put five stents into her heart and connected her to an Impella heart pump to help her heart function.

San Francisco Chronicle covers the Esalen Institute’s future

Neither a church nor a university nor a think tank, Esalen was designed more than 50 years ago as a kind of spiritual and cultural crossroads to explore the frontiers of human knowledge, to entertain bold or even transgressive ideas, from drug-induced mysticism to the mind’s potential to survive bodily death.

The institute was founded in 1962 by Stanford alums Michael Murphy and Richard Price on picturesque land owned by Murphy’s family. Deeply influenced by the work of Aldous Huxley in everything from psychedelic drugs to erotic tantric yoga, Murphy and Price looked to create a conducive space to conduct seminars in “new conception of human nature,” as Esalen’s first brochure put it.

“We just want to be the catalyst for whatever is in the shadow of the culture,” said psychologist Gordon Wheeler, who serves as Esalen’s president. “That shadow moves around from generation to generation. But the mission at Esalen stays the same — to address what should be talked about, but often is not.”
